This policy explains how Damenwahl International handles the personal data you share when you join one of our city mailing lists. We keep it simple because we collect very little.
Who is responsible for your data
Damenwahl International runs as independent city chapters, each led by its own chapter head. Responsibility for your data depends on which list you join.
- Singapore list: your data is collected and controlled by the Singapore chapter head, Tanja Jesemann. Contact: singapore@damenwahl.co
- Hong Kong list: your data is collected and controlled by the Hong Kong chapter head, Janine Wanner, Hong Kong. Contact: hongkong@damenwahl.co
- Munich list: your data is collected and controlled by the Munich chapter head, Silvia Imran, Germany. Contact: munich@damenwahl.co
Each chapter head is responsible only for the list of their own city. If you have a question about your data, please write to the contact for the city whose list you joined.
What we collect
Only what you send us when you ask to join a list: your name and your email address. We do not collect anything else through this website, and there is no login, account, or tracking profile.
How we collect it
Our mailing lists work by email. When you click a "join the list" link, your email programme opens a message addressed to us with your name. You send it, and we add you to the list. In other words, you actively contact us, and by doing so you consent to being added.
Why we use it, and what we promise
We use your name and email for one purpose only: to send you invitations to Damenwahl evenings in your city. Nothing else. No newsletters, no third-party marketing, no noise. We will never sell or rent your data, and never use it for any other business purpose.
Tickets and payments
How tickets are paid for differs by city. In every case, the payment itself is handled by someone other than us.
Singapore: tickets are paid for at the venue on the evening of the event. Any card payment is handled by the venue under its own privacy policy. We do not process or store booking or payment data for the Singapore evenings.
Hong Kong: tickets are sold in advance through our ticketing partner (Ticket Tailor), with payment processed by Stripe. Your booking and payment details are handled by those providers under their own privacy policies, not by us. We receive only the guest information needed to run the event (such as your name and the fact that you hold a ticket). Munich: no evenings have taken place yet and no tickets are sold. When ticketing starts, this page will be updated before any booking or payment data is collected.
Who else sees your data
Your list data is kept by your city's chapter head and the email service they use to manage the list and send invitations. We do not share it with anyone else, except where we are required to by law.
How long we keep it
We keep your details for as long as you wish to receive invitations. You can ask to be removed at any time, and we will delete your data from the active list promptly.
Your rights
You may ask us to see, correct, or delete the data we hold about you, or to stop contacting you. Just email the contact for your city, and we will take care of it.
Which law applies depends on the list you joined. For the Singapore list, Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act. For the Hong Kong list, Hong Kong's Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance. For the Munich list, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
If you are on the Munich list, the GDPR gives you the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, and port your data, and to object to its use. The legal basis we rely on is your consent, given when you write to us asking to be added. You may withdraw that consent at any time, which does not affect anything done before you withdrew it. You also have the right to complain to a data protection supervisory authority in the EU country where you live or work.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle data, we will update this page and the date above.
